People leave guttering until a wall goes green. By then the water has been running down the brickwork for a couple of winters, and damp inside usually follows. It is one of the cheapest bits of a house to put right and one of the most expensive to ignore.
We take the old boards off rather than cap over them, because capping hides rotten timber instead of dealing with it. The roof edge gets checked while it is exposed, then new uPVC fascias, soffits and gutters go on, levelled to the outlet so they actually run.

Gutter line put back levelYes, and sometimes that is all it needs. If the gutters are sagging, cracked or the fascia behind is soft, clearing them is only a short term fix and we will say so.
Most semis and terraces are a day or two. A large detached with two storeys and a lot of corners can be three. Scaffolding or a tower is included where the height needs it.
We do not cap. Capping traps damp timber behind plastic. Taking the old boards off costs a bit more and is the only way to know what is back there.
White is standard, black, anthracite grey, rosewood and oak effect are all available. Grey and black cost slightly more than white.
